Organic growth for a track is when people hear a song and like it and once in awhile spread the word. That would be normal. But sometimes listeners will not give a song a try, so it goes nowhere. There are so many new songs because of so many people producing music, listeners cannot get to all of them. It is just a fact of life. But still sad that a really great track might never see the light of day. I have published my own novels, which is another difficult endeavor, but I think the music is even more difficult than that. Anyone who can produce a track and get ten thousand plays on it have beaten the odds, I'd say.
I have a track that has 22K plays on it on Audiomack, and getting a hundred a day right now. It is a kid's song that is in a monetizing market but not monetizing. I just can't get very excited about it. I have had a couple of other tracks go over 1K, one of those also a kid's song. I only made those songs for my grandchildren. I'm not into being a kid's music producer.
We keep hoping we will come out with something that will catch on, but realistically, what is our end goal? It all is to me a big morale buster. Do any of you experience the same feelings about this? I was quite satisfied with the situation I had on SoundCloud. Making some friends, getting a lot of streams that were monetizing. Then, come to find out that I was not getting any credit for most of my streams there. So disappointing. Now I don't want to post on SoundCloud any more. Not sure where to go from here. Any thoughts?
