Another band that has a sound that I really love is Vioflesh. They are from all the way down in Santiago, Chile, which alone is quite interesting. They opened the show, Hocico last year in Chile. Play their simple but extremely cool music and check out the their answers to questions I asked them.
Den: Who are the members of your group?
Vioflesh: The members of the band are Violeta Valenzuela, she is the principal voice and writes the songs; and Flesh, he is the musical producer, keyboard, mixing and mastering.
Den: What was it like when you started producing music and what drew you to do it?
Vioflesh: We came from other musical projects, rock projects. Flesh was experimenting with doing electronic music, then he started to record demos, he showed them to Vio and they started composing together and it evolved from there.
Den: Who are your favorite artists; electronic or any other type?
Vioflesh: Our favorite artists are Crystal Castles, Boy Harsher, Baauhaus, Muse, Kraftwerk, Front 242, Nirvana, Sex Pistols, The Cure, Depeche Mode and many more.
Den: What do you think sets your music apart, or makes it different from others?
Vioflesh: It’s a hard question because we believe that every musical creation is unique! Every artist wants to capture their identity in every piece, which make it unique and different.
Den: Fair enough. Does your music have any particular themes to it?
Vioflesh: We sing about personal themes, about love, complicated relationships and everyday situations.
Den: What are you working on right now?
Vioflesh: We are finishing what will be our next album, we are in the final process of our two last songs and then show it to the world! We hope that happens in the middle of this year.
Den: I can't wait to hear your new stuff. Can you tell me more about it?
Vioflesh: the new album is 100% virtual. The previous albums were made with real synthesizers, but now we wanted to see what would happen just with virtual overtones and the result is turning out very well.
Den: What is the biggest challenge you face right now in music production?
Vioflesh: Creating is already a challenge; to find new sounds; a new story to tell is a new challenge, but at the same time is very entertaining when we listen to the final result!
Den: Have you ever collaborated with other artists?
Vioflesh: We have made several songs remixes of some bands that are our friends and also, they have remixed us.
Den: How did it go?
Vioflesh: It was a really fun process.
Den: The music business is so tough. How do you measure your success?
Vioflesh: I think that we can measure it with ourselves, as time goes by you can realize if the current project overcomes the previous one in quality and technique.
Den: How did you get most of your fans?
Vioflesh: Through live streaming and social media.
Den: What are some of your other interests?
Vioflesh: Vio is a photographer, and she loves it, and she is also a graphic designer, in the other hand Flesh is a musician 100% of the time, he never goes out of the production world, mixing and mastering.
Den: Great. Thank you for your time. Where can fans follow you?
